Growing today means moving within a complex scenario: a horizon made of infinite possibilities but also continuous uncertainty. Young Campus was created to inhabit this space of transition, to allow a moment of reflection and to shift perspective on one’s own path.
It is not an event that offers immediate solutions, but an experience that generates questions, stimulates dialogue, and creates connections.
Young Campus took place on May 7, 2026, in Cesena, at the Sala Polivalente of the Cesena Campus, located at Via dell’Università 50. The event was co-designed together with the Dipartimento di Informatica - Scienza e Ingegneria (DISI) of the University of Bologna, Cesena campus. The event was born from the collaboration between students, professors, and local professionals to build a shared journey around the theme of Travel and its different dimensions: digital, inner, spatial, and professional.
The 2026 theme: Travel
The guiding thread of the 5th edition was Travel, understood as both a personal and collective process.
A journey that does not follow predetermined maps, that changes direction, pauses, and starts again. A journey that moves through education, work, technology, life choices, failures, and transformations.
Telling the story of a journey means giving value to the path itself, not only to the destination.
Within Young Campus, there is space for stories, visions, and cross-disciplinary exchanges.
Different experiences engage in dialogue to show how change can become an opportunity for growth, and how the local area - with its energy and expertise - can be a starting point rather than a limitation. Young Campus grows through the contributions of those who have something to share: an idea, a project, or an unconventional path.
The Think Tables: a journey across disciplines
The collaboration with the Cesena Campus of University of Bologna, with its excellence in Engineering and Computer Science, Architecture, Psychology, and Food Science and Technology, led to the creation of the Think Tables: thematic discussion groups guided by professors, professionals, and students. These sessions explored visions of the future, work, and personal growth. What emerged were spontaneous and profound reflections on identity, change, error, and design thinking.
THE DIGITAL JOURNEY
Computer Science and Engineering
Within the Engineering group, a strong connection emerged between desire, curiosity, and a sense of progress. Work is envisioned as a space for personal fulfillment, where people can have a clear role and purpose.
Alongside the technical dimension, the value of relationships also stands out: work and projects thrive best in environments built on connection, collaboration, and teamwork. Journeys - whether physical or creative - are seen as meaningful experiences, especially when shared.
Another central theme is the relationship with growth: not only economic growth, but also growth tied to well-being, responsibility, and the ability to create value through what is built.
THE JOURNEY IN SPACE AND FORM
Architecture
The group explored the relationship between space, experience, and identity. Travel was at the center of the reflection, not only as physical movement but also as a way of observing the world. A critique of mass tourism and the fast pace of contemporary experience emerged: traveling too quickly can diminish the ability to truly understand what one observes.
Looking at the world, rather than simply “seeing” it, becomes a conscious act: perception changes depending on one’s perspective and cultural background. Travel is therefore interpreted not only as a personal experience, but also as a professional and relational one. Collaborations, books, films, and cultural cross-pollination become tools for exploration.
Finally, the value of serendipity emerges: the possibility of discovering something unexpected along the way, keeping horizons open rather than fixing rigid goals.
THE INNER JOURNEY
Psychology
Here, the focus shifted to the value of imperfection and fragility as constructive elements. Making mistakes is recognized as one of the main drivers of personal growth. A critical reflection also emerged on the way society tends to stigmatize failure, rather than normalize it or consider it part of the process.
Another important theme concerns language and irony as tools for dealing with complexity and disability - not as limitations, but as possible sources of meaning and insight. More broadly, one’s “personal baggage” is seen as something built over time, shaped not only by achievements but also by setbacks and new beginnings.
THE JOURNEY OF SENSES AND SUSTAINABILITY
Food Science and Technology
The group reflected on the importance of flexibility in life paths. Changing direction is not seen as a failure, but as a natural possibility within one’s journey.
A strong theme emerged around serenity in decision-making and freedom from external judgment: listening to advice is valuable, but choices remain personal. Mistakes were reinterpreted as a fundamental part of growth: the more one experiments and makes errors, the more one improves. Dreams are not fixed, but can evolve, adapt, and transform over time.
