Giovanni Ciatto

I am a fixed-term researcher at DISI, UniBO, since March 2023, holding a Ph.D. in Data Science and Computation and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering. Since December 2024, I hold the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor in the ING-INF sector. Previously, I was a research fellow (2022–2023) and a Ph.D. student (2017–2021) in the same department. My research focuses on AI, logical programming, MAS, distributed systems, and software engineering, with particular attention to symbolic reasoning, sub-symbolic processing, and their intersection. I teach these topics at UniBO and in international contexts, having co-authored more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. I actively serve as a reviewer and guest editor for leading journals and conferences in the fields of MAS and AI. Additionally, I contribute to open-source software tools for research, including logical solvers (e.g., 2P-Kt) and toolkits for programming BDI agents (e.g., JaKtA).
