Giorgia Macrelli

Councilor for Youth Policies, city of Cesena

Born and raised in Cesena, she left alone for three weeks to London at the age of 17—this experience will reveal her as a citizen of the world. In 2018, she graduated in Foreign Languages and Cultures from the University of Urbino "Carlo Bo," with study periods in Barcelona and New Paltz (NY). In 2021, she obtained a double Master's degree in Erasmus Mundus in Journalism, Media, and Globalization from the Universities of Aarhus and Hamburg. She works at the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) in Hamburg and begins her freelance career collaborating with various companies and universities, focusing on communication. After returning to Cesena, in 2022, she conducts workshops on Music and Creative Writing offered by the Cultural Association Barbablù and is a Research Fellow at the Department of Translation and Interpreting of the University of Bologna Alma Mater Studiorum, dealing with alumni, events, and podcasts while supporting the European project New ABC, aimed at increasing the inclusion of children and youth with a migration background in schools by involving the entire community. She teaches English, Spanish, and Italian for foreigners. When she is not doing all these things, she directs an intercultural choir, acts in theater, and continues her artistic journey as a singer-songwriter.
