Cristiana Barbatelli

With an academic background from Ca' Foscari University of Venice and the University of Milan, she has been in China for about 40 years, focusing on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Initially working in the banking sector, she later moved into management consulting.

She has led projects for the IFC, ADB, and the European Community and has advised over 600 Italian SMEs on their development projects in China. She is the only foreign Independent Board Member at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. She has taught at the University of Macerata’s Faculty of Communication Sciences and was a Founding Faculty Member of BIC (Business in China), a managerial training course on China by Ispi - Bocconi.

She is a visiting lecturer at Tor Vergata - Rome, Faculty of Economics, and at the University of Macerata, Faculty of Political Sciences, where she teaches "Business Management in China." She is a faculty member of the EMBA program at Tor Vergata, Faculty of Economics.

She has also taught at Jiaotong University in Shanghai, Chair of Creative Management, EMBA Jiaotong University - Vancouver University, and held the Marketing Management Chair at the Institute of Economics and Finance, Shanghai Normal University.

Co-author of La Cina non è per tutti, Edizioni Olivares (2005), and La Cina non è ancora per tutti (2015), she has written for various Italian and international journals. Recent interviews include:
